CORRECTION: Second fire victim still being treated for injuries

Windsor Fire and Rescue Services has issued a correction after reporting that the second person pulled from a house fire on Church Street Sunday died.

The fire broke out at the home on Church Street between Park Street and Karl Place around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.  A man and woman were rescued from the home and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Monday, the Windsor Police Service reported a 59-year-old man had died from his injuries sustained in the fire.

Investigators from the Ontario Fire Marshalls office, the Windsor Fire and Rescue Service, and the Windsor Police Service continue to investigate the blaze. There is still no word on what caused the fire.

The Windsor police are asking anyone in the area with surveillance video to review their footage for evidence of suspicious activity.
