Parents have more time to decide on learning model for elementary students

The local public school board is extending the deadline for parents to switch their child’s learning model at the elementary school level.

The deadline for secondary school students remains January 6 at 4 p.m.

The Greater Essex County District School Board is extending the deadline for elementary students pending an update from the health unit on the status of schools moving forward.

A new deadline will be announced after further discussion with local health officials. All parents will have an opportunity to resubmit the form at that time should they wish to change from in-class learning to online learning for the remainder of the year.

This is the last time, in this school year, parents and guardians will be given the opportunity to switch their child’s learning model.
