Windsor Public Library services are changing as more provincial regulations come into effect.
As of Monday, December 28, 2020, all Windsor Public Library locations will be open for curbside pickup of materials only. All materials can be placed on hold through the Windsor Public Library website. When the materials you reserved are ready for pick-up you will be notified by phone or email.
Public access for browsing, computer use and photocopier use has been suspended at this time.
“We are totally supportive of the provincial lockdown decision”, says Councillor Rino Bortolin, chair of the WPLB. “The closure of large public spaces helps to delay the spread of the virus, which in turn helps to relieve the stress placed on the health system. The health of our customers and staff is our most important consideration and by following the lead of local and provincial health authorities, a temporary closure is the most prudent and sensible action to take.”
Materials can be returned through the exterior book return slots. All returned materials will be quarantined for 72 hours before being returned to circulation.
The Windsor Public Library has posted a number of video tutorials on how to search the library’s catalogue and place items on hold. They can be found on the library’s YouTube channel here.
