Stun gun leads to numerous charges

A 45-year-old Windsor man will have to answer to charges after an investigation by the Windsor Police Service Drugs and Guns Unit.

According to police, the drugs and gun unit began its investigation earlier this month regarding the possession of an illegal weapon.

During the investigation, a suspect and associated residence were identified by officers. Investigators applied for and received judicial authorization to search the involved residence with members of the Emergency Services Unit assisting in the execution of the warrant.

As a result of the investigation, officers located and seized a stun gun and arrested the suspect at the scene without incident.

A 45-year-old man from Windsor is facing numerous charges including possession of a prohibited weapon and four counts of possessing a weapon while prohibited.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
