Windsor police investigating early morning shooting

Windsor police are looking for suspects after a shooting on Cataraqui Street early Monday morning.

Officers were called to the area around 4:30 a.m. and found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation was launched and the forensic identification unit processed the scene.

A suspect is described as a black man around 6'2", 190 pounds, with a medium to muscular build. He was wearing black clothing and a black winter hat at the time of the incident. Investigators believe multiple other people may have been present and involved in the shooting.

Police are seeking video surveillance footage from the area. Residents and businesses in the area of Cataraqui and Marentette are asked to review their footage for any evidence. Investigators believe the suspect left the area on foot but a vehicle may have been waiting somewhere in the area.
