The Windsor Essex County Health Unit is monitoring a cluster of COVID-19 cases at Windsor Regional Hospital- Met Campus.
Within the last week, four staff members on 4N at the Met Campus of Windsor Regional Hospital have tested positive for the virus. An outbreak has not been declared as a result of these cases.
"The investigation is ongoing and we are working closely with hospital administrators and the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) team to determine the source of transmission and the potential risk to staff and patients," said Medical Officer of Health Dr. Wajid Ahmed in a media release.
At this point, there is no indication of spread from staff to staff, staff to patients, or patients to staff.
Windsor Regional Hospital has tested all staff and patients on the unit and no further cases of COVID-19 have been detected.
Windsor Regional Hospital continues to monitor cases on the floor and is working with staff to ensure proper public health measures are followed.
