Windsor police officers were kept busy with impaired and aggressive driving enforcement over the weekend.
Traffic enforcement officers patrolled the E.C. Row Expressway on Friday and handed out a total of 78 citations. The vast majority of them were for speeding, but there were two charges for stunt driving, which is defined as driving at least 50 kilometres per hour over the speed limit.
The service also set up three RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) checkpoints at various places Friday night and early Saturday morning. A total of 449 drivers were interviewed, but two drivers were issued three-day licence suspensions. One driver was arrested for impaired driving and exceeding legal blood alcohol levels.
