Police investigating sexual assault

The Windsor Police Service is investigating a sexual assault that happened early Sunday in the area of Glengarry Avenue and Wyandotte Street East.

A woman reported she had been walking in the area around 1:45 a.m. when a man physically overpowered her and she was sexually assaulted.

The victim was taken to the hospital for assessment.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-thirties. He is about 6' tall and was wearing a light blue sweater.

Police believe there was vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the area before, during, and after the attack. Anyone who may have been driving in the area around the time of the incident is asked to check possible dashcam footage for possible evidence. Investigators are also asking residents and businesses in the area to check surveillance footage.
