Catholic school board pushes back date for learning model change

Students at Catholic schools in Windsor-Essex will have to wait an additional week before switching between online and in-person learning.

The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board said on Tuesday that the date for students who have elected to switch between learning models has been changed from November 2 to November 9.

"We have sent a voice message to all households with elementary students to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and informing parents that in the days ahead, they can expect to be hearing directly from their home school, or from the virtual elementary school, about classroom assignments and other details regarding their children's’ change in learning modes on November 9," the school board said in a news release.

The school board said due to a high volume of requests to change learning models, the change in date was necessary to properly organize classrooms for the transition.
