Man involved in local theatre charged with sexual assault

A man involved in local theatre has been charged with multiple offences after a sexual assault investigation by the Windsor Police Service.

Police began investigating after a woman reported she was sexually assaulted in 2014. A second victim was identified during the investigation and reported assaults in 2014 and 2015 by the same man.

Both victims were under the age of 18 at the time of the incidents. According to Windsor police, the man was in a position of trust through local theatre initiatives at the time of the sexual assaults.

Jeffrey Bastien, 44, is charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation. The charges have not been proven in court.

The Major Crime Branch continues to investigate and believes there is a possibility of other victims because multiple victims have already come forward.

Sexual assaults can be reported to police directly or online here.

The sexual assault investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor Police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830 Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.catchcrooks.com.
