El-Hajj wants to protect Little River Golf Course

Ward 7 by-election candidate Farah El-Hajj is campaigning to protect Little River Golf Course.

The golf course in the Forest Glade area did not open this year because of the pandemic. El-Hajj said she has heard from many residents who are concerned this could become permanent and the property sold off for development.

"I've gotten a number of e-mails and it's really important that we address this and we put pressure on the city to see what the future of this golf course looks like," said El-Hajj.

As part of her campaign platform, El-Hajj said she would fight to keep the golf course open. If it's determined the golf course cannot be maintained she says the property should be kept as green space for the community.

"If this is sold off for future developments, it's only going to increase the flooding risk in this community and I think residents in this whole community here can agree that they don't want that and that we need to be protecting all of our green spaces in Windsor," said El-Hajj.

The by-election will take place on Monday, October 5. Advance voting will take place on September 29 and 30, October 1 and 3. Other Ward 7 candidates include Igor Dzaic, Michelle Gajewski, Jeewen Gill, Barbara Holland, Ernie Lamont, Greg Lemay, Mike Malott, Angelo Marignani, Therese Papineau, Albert Saba, and Howard Weeks.
