Windsor Regional Hospital wants to clear the air after inquiries regarding payment for medically necessary services.
The inquiries are from those who do not have health insurance, or OHIP, such as travellers from the United States and migrant workers.
The hospital said it is not charging patients for medically necessary services amid the pandemic.
"In compliance with provincial health regulations, all medically necessary services are being provided to any individual who comes to our hospitals for care, regardless of whether or not the patient has health insurance," said the hospital in a release.
Although those who do not have insurance were billed before the pandemic, the rules changed in March.
"It was deemed necessary to not turn away any individuals seeking urgent medical care during a critical time amid a pandemic," continued the release.
If someone has inadvertently been sent a bill, they should contact the hospital's billing department.
