A member of the Windsor Police Service is facing a charge of criminal harassment.
The 29-year veteran of the force was arrested Friday by Windsor police. However, the Chatham-Kent Police Service is taking over the investigation.
The officer has been charged with one count of harassment by repeated communication with a person.
"The officer and the victim had been in a relationship," police said in a news release issued Tuesday. "To protect the identity of the victim, the officer's name will not be released."
The officer has been released from custody and has been suspended from duty with pay.
