YQG Stands Strong campaign supports students headed back to class

The United Way in Windsor-Essex is launching a new pilot program to help support students as they head back to school in September.

The pilot program is getting a boost thanks to the BB Branded and Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island campaign YQG Stands Strong. Through the campaign, a portion of the YQG Stands Strong t-shirt sales were committed to the WE COVID Care Coalition to support services in the community during the pandemic.

“The BB Branded family is honoured to be a part of this community initiative. We believe in investing back into our city so we can always stand strong together,” said Ayad Saddy, co-owner of BB Branded Lifestyle & Sneaker Boutique.

The campaign raised $4,000 which will go toward the United Way pilot program.

"These dollars are going to support a pilot project that is going to help build capacity with our partners," said Lorraine Goddard with the United Way. "These dollars are going to help us access technology, help families access technology so that we can ensure that young people get the support they need."

Around 70 per cent of the shirts that were printed have been sold. Shirts can be purchased at BB Branded Boutique.
