The City of Windsor, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island, Workforce WindsorEssex, and the Arts Council of Windsor and Essex want to know how the pandemic impacts the region's creative workforce.
The pandemic has hard hit the cultural community with the border closed and the typical venues for arts closed. Creative workers are facing significant job loss.
A new survey will give decision-makers greater insight.
"We know there are many surveys circulating," read a release from the City of Windsor. "The more information we're able to compile, the better we will be able to understand the regional economic impact on our cultural community. The data collected will be confidential and will only be reported in an anonymous and aggregated form."
"Artists, makers, and creators give us the stories, works, and experiences that shape our city," said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens. "Like everyone right now, they are facing extreme challenges. With venues closed, and large gatherings on hold, local artists have had to adapt and find creative ways to connect with audiences.
"This survey will help us understand the real impact of COVID-19 on our regional cultural community and will help inform recovery efforts down the road," continued the mayor.
The survey is open online until August 7, 2020, at 4:30 p.m.
