Police dog given naloxone during search of home

The Ontario Provincial Police had to administer naloxone to a member of its K-9 unit during the search of a Leamington home last Thursday.

"Maximus" was looking for drugs in the home on Erie Street South when he began to show signs of dizziness and shortness of breath.

After receiving the life-saving treatment, the dog will make a full recovery.

However, a 57-year-old Leamington man faces possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking charges.

The search turned up fentanyl, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and some cash.
