Police search for dog involved in alleged attack

Police are searching for a dog that fled after it allegedly bit a person on Sunday.

Officers say they received a dog bite complaint around 4:30 p.m. near the 2500 block of Ouellette Avenue. A victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. It is not known if the victim was familiar with the animal, or why the dog bit them.

Currently, police are searching the area of Eugenie Street East, and Dougall Avenue for a dog that's described as a large, light brown and white pit bull.

Anyone who sees a dog matching the description is advised not to approach it and to call police immediately.
