A flood watch has been issued for parts of Windsor and Essex County.
The Essex Region Conservation Authority issued a new flood watch is in effect for the Lake St. Clair shoreline from Windsor to Lakeshore, the Lake Erie shoreline (Pelee Island and islands within the western basin), and the Detroit River shoreline.
The conservation authority said the current high water levels and forecasted high winds with gusts between 30-45 kilometres per hour on Sunday have to potential to result in flooding.
The current water levels on Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie are roughly 85 cm and 75 cm, respectively, above long-term average levels.
Residents are encouraged to pay close attention to conditions for potential changes to flooding conditions.
The flood watch will remain in effect until Monday.
