Windsor police are reminding the public that driving impaired is a serious offence following two alcohol-related crashes Saturday night.
The first was on Riverside Drive East at Riverdale, where the driver of a motorcycle lost control, hit an object, and was thrown from the bike.
At first, police though his injuries were life-threatening. A trip to the hospital determined they were not, but officers suspected the man was impaired during their investigation.
A 58-year-old man is now charged with impaired driving.
Just over three hours later, police charged a 32-year-old woman with impaired driving charges after a second crash on Hall Avenue between Cataraqui Street and Niagara Street.
This time a white Buick Enclave collided with three parked cars.
The impact deployed the airbags, but no one was hurt.
Investigators gave the female driver a roadside test after finding out she had been drinking earlier in the evening. When she failed that, she was arrested and taken to police headquarters downtown for a breath test.
She failed that too.
