The Town of Essex is looking for residents' impressions on the job the Ontario Provincial Police is doing.
Essex has put out an online survey to gauge people's thoughts on the OPP and on policing in general, and has asked residents to take a few minutes to provide input.
"This is an opportunity for citizens to be heard and to provide their feedback on how they feel about policing," said Essex Ward 2 Councillor Kim Verbeek. "The responses and comments provided will give Council important information as we consider the future of policing within our community."
The OPP handles policing in Essex, Tecumseh, Lakeshore, Kingsville and Leamington.
Residents are being asked to grade the OPP on general satisfaction, interactions with police, and community safety. Comments can also be added.
The survey can be found on the town's official website, and responses will be collected through June 12. Responses are limited to one per resident and only those from Essex residents will be considered in tabulation.
Results will then be brought before Essex Town Council for review.
