Windsor man charged with making threats

A 38-year-old man is facing multiple charges stemming from an incident Tuesday afternoon.

Patrol and Emergency Services Unit (ESU) officers from Windsor police arrived at a home on Mercer Street near Cataraqui Street around 4 p.m. Police had received a call about someone making threats with the possibility of weapons on the premises.

Two people were identified as being part of the incident. One of them told police the other man threatened him and it was believed the man had a weapon. The man accused of having a weapon left the house and was arrested without incident. Ammunition was found on him, according to Sergeant Andy Drouillard, an alleged violation of a previous court order.

Officers from the Major Crimes Division obtained a warrant to search the home and seized a replica handgun, a long-barreled pellet gun, and other items.

The suspect, who has not been identified, is charged with uttering threats and breach of a court order. He was released on an undertaking with conditions and a later court date.

The investigation is ongoing.
