Ontario's Special Investigations Unit has cleared the Ontario Provincial Police after a fatal shooting in Tecumseh last June.
Back on June 14, a woman called 911 and said her son was locked in the bathroom and was threatening to hurt himself. He had several knives in the bathroom with him.
OPP officers arrived at the home on Estate Park near Talthorpe Place just after 10 p.m.
Attempts to negotiate with the man failed, and there was an altercation where three officers were hurt, and the man was fatally shot.
The SIU assigned three investigators and two forensic investigators.
The Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Joseph Martino, has now concluded there were no reasonable grounds to believe the officers committed a criminal offence.
