The local Salvation Army shelter is in desperate need of workers as the need for its services rises.
Due to COVID-19, there is more demand for front line services and many staff are self-isolating or choosing to stay home. The shelter is in need of cooks, housekeepers, and other shelter workers.
"We are trying our best to put out a cry for help to the public," said Lieutenant Gina Haggett of the Salvation Army.
She said if staff levels decrease any further, they may be forced to close their doors.
Haggett said they are doing everything in their power to make the shelter a safe workplace. They have preventative measures in place and the proper personal protective equipment for all front line workers. They also have a rigorous cleaning and disinfecting routine in place.
