Two people are facing charges after border service agents stopped $4.8 million of suspected cocaine from entering Canada.
On March 17, 2020, Canadian Border Service Agents at the Ambassador Bridge send a commercial truck to secondary examination. During the inspection, officers found 38 kilograms of suspected cocaine mixed in a load of citrus fruit.
The officers seized the drugs and arrested the driver and co-driver of the truck. The RCMP was called and the suspects and evidence were turned over.
Sukdeep Singh from Brampton and Inderjeet Singh from Lindsay are both facing charges of importation of a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking. None of the charges have been proven in court.
