Festival of Birds cancelled

The Festival of Birds at Point Pelee National Park has been cancelled due to COVID-19.

Parks Canada suspended visitor services and access to all of its sites by vehicle on March 23, 2020.

The Festival of Birds was scheduled to be held between May 1 and May 20. Parks Canada says anyone planning to visit the park should cancel their plans.

In lieu of the festival, the park has increased its virtual programming. The park wants to help visitors participate in birding activities from their homes during the spring migration. It will include virtual presentations and real-time sounds of the park.

Anyone interested in taking part in the migration programming should visit Point Pelee National Park on Facebook or Twitter.
