Catholic board developing online learning strategy

The Windsor Essex County District School Board is developing a web-based learning strategy to connect students with teachers while schools are closed.

The board is working with the Ministry of Education along with the teacher’s union to develop a program, which will enable students to continue their education with the support of their teachers.

In order for the program to work, all students will need to have devices that can connect to the internet. Any family that does not have access to a computer, laptop, or tablet is asked to call their school office no later than noon on Friday, March 27.

The school board is currently conducting an inventory of devices within the board but it will not be able to provide a device to every student. The board is asking that any family that has access to a functioning device not request one from the school.

Once the needs are assessed, the board will provide further details on how families can access the devices.
