City looking into emergency child care needs

The City of Windsor is assessing the need for emergency child care services in the region.

The Children’s Services department is asking emergency support workers from the health care sector and other frontline agencies to fill out a survey about their child care needs. The survey will help them identify which areas of the city child care spaces are most needed if the province allows limited child care centres to open.

The city also wants the community to know that there are child care options available through licensed home care agencies. To find where there is space available you can contact Wee Watch (519-776-9797), Great Beginnings (519-984-8928), or Windsor East (226-526-4474).

Should emergency child care centres be approved to open, a list of locations will be made available on the city’s website.
