Police arrest suspect in bank robbery

Police have arrested a suspect involved in a bank robbery that happened in downtown Windsor.

Windsor police were called to the bank on Ouellette Avenue near Riverside Drive around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Witnesses told police that a lone suspect entered the bank and gave an employee a note with instructions. The man was given some cash and ran off.

There were no reported injuries and no weapon involved.

Police were able to identify a suspect who was located just after 6 p.m. in the area of Church Street and Wyandotte Street West. He was arrested without incident.

Officers allegedly found a small amount of heroin on the suspect when he was arrested.

Cody Carrington, 31, of no fixed address, is charged with robbery and possession of a controlled substance. None of the charges have been proven in court.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
