University of Windsor cancelling classes

The University of Windsor has announced that classes will be cancelled for a few days starting next week.

The University Senate unanimously approved the plan Friday afternoon and made the announcement just after 7 p.m. the same day.

All classes will be cancelled from Monday, March 16 until Wednesday, March 18. Starting Thursday, March 19, courses will resume through an online format. The university has also said an alternative delivery of exams will also be considered.

The University says it will remain open even though classes are cancelled. Residences, library services, food services, health services and other student services will be available.

UWindsor says they have cancelled or postponed all non-essential university events both on and off campus. The university has said they will post updates as they become available.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
