Both Emergency Departments at Windsor Regional Hospital have new equipment for eye exams thanks to a $100,000 donation.
The Downtown Windsor Lions Club and the Eyes Right Foundation donated the money for two-slit lamps with tonometers, two tonopens and 30 ophthalmoscopes.
"People feel so vulnerable and helpless when they can't see properly and they're worried about losing their vision. This [equipment] means that we can quickly see them, and quickly assess their eye," said Emergency Physician Jody Stasko.
Stasko said the equipment in the departments now is out of date.
The Windsor Downtown Lions Club made the donation in honour of its 100th anniversary in the city.
