Candidates continue to file for Ward 7 by-election

Farah El-Hajj is the latest to join the race for Ward 7 councillor.

El-Hajj, 25, has a political science degree from the University of Windsor and has worked in the constituency office of Windsor-West MP Brian Masse.

She said she became familiar with Ward 7 and the concerns of residents when she worked for a financial institution in the ward.

"I've had the opportunity to learn many concerns and issues that affect residents in Forest Glade and east Riverside," said El-Hajj. "Examples include protecting our homes from flooding, protecting our community's livability, and enhancing services and infrastructure that constituents use every day."

El-Hajj is the ninth candidate to file papers for the Ward 7 by-election. Other candidates include Howard Weeks, Igor Dzaic, Barbara Holland, Ernie Lamont, Greg Lemay, Michael Malott, Thérése Papineau, and Albert Saba.

The deadline to apply is Friday at 2 p.m.

The Ward 7 by-election to fill the seat left vacant by MP Irek Kusmierczyk will be held April 27, 2020.
