WPL unveils renovations to Budimir Branch

The $3.5-million renovations to the Budimir Branch of the Windsor Public Library are now complete.

The 6,000 square feet of additional space includes more customer space, additional resources and materials and a technology hub.

"Prior to this expansion people virtually sat on each other's laps," says WPL CEO Kitty Pope. "It was so busy, there's lots of students in this area, lots of high school students, university students it was incredibly well used."

According to Pope, the Budimir Branch is one of the most popular in the library system.

"We knew more than anything the community wanted study, reading, programming space and a larger collection," said Pope.

The Nikola Budimir Memorial Public Library was first opened in 1966. Budimir is now over 15,000 square feet making it the largest facility in the WPL system.
