UPDATE: Woman hurt in Leamington industrial accident

A woman is recovering after an industrial accident at a business in Leamington.

Firefighters were called to Pure Flavour on Highway 77 near Mersea Road 4 just before 2:30 p.m. Thursday after a woman got her hand caught in a sealer machine.

Leamington Fire Chief Andrew Baird said maintenance staff managed to free her before firefighters arrived, but paramedics took her to the hospital.

The Ontario Provincial Police were also on the scene.

A Ministry of Labour inspector issued two orders against the company, and the investigation is ongoing.
