The Ontario Ministry of Labour is investigating after the death of a worker at the Windsor Assembly Plant.
Ministry spokesperson Janet Deline told BlackburnNewsWindsor.com that the employee was found unconscious at a workstation on Monday. She confirmed that, per procedure, Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles contacted the ministry.
"A ministry inspector was assigned and attended the scene," Deline said in an email. "The ministry has confirmed that the worker has passed away. However, we are still waiting to determine if this incident is work-related."
It was not disclosed what area of the plant this occurred in, and the employee has not been identified.
Deline said the investigation is ongoing. More details will be passed along as additional information becomes available.
