Windsor-Essex real estate market still strong in October

Home prices continue to go up in Windsor-Essex.

The Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors (WECAR) released on Wednesday afternoon its sales figures for October. While the average price of a home continues to rise, there was a slight drop in the number of properties sold.

The average sale price for October was $342,543, a 10.2 per cent increase from October 2018 when the average price in Windsor-Essex came to $310,841. The total number of properties sold in Windsor-Essex last month was 590 compared to 596 for last October, which amounts to a 1.1 per cent decline.

According to WECAR, the number of properties currently for sale in October was 830, an almost 7.4 per cent rise from 2018. However, when the report was released on Wednesday, there was a total of 1,131 available listings in Windsor-Essex.

Bungalow homes were the most popular style sold in October, with 132 sold. Two-storey homes were second with 94, ranch homes were third with 88, followed by one-and-a-half-storey and raised ranch homes.
