The fire at a home on Queen's Avenue started around 8 a.m. Saturday.
No one was hurt, but the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal was called in to help with the investigation.
Police said 33-year-old Shane Lance faces a charge of arson with disregard for human life.
The charge has not been proven in court.
