Head-on collision sends two to hospital

Two people were transported to hospital after a head-on collision on Manning Road Monday.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. between Little Base Line Road and Sylvestre Drive.

Ontario Provincial Police said the crash sent the driver and lone occupant of the southbound vehicle to hospital with "life-altering injuries". The driver and lone occupant of the northbound vehicle was also transported to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The crash closed a section of Manning Road for around six hours while police investigated.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
