New west-end bus terminal opens Friday

A new west-end transit terminal is set to open at the end of the week at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare.

The new terminal will open Friday at Prince Road will replace the terminal on College Avenue. It will service the Transway 1C, the Crosstown 2, South Windsor 7, Central 3 and Central 3 West.

"This new location will serve as an accessible neighbourhood anchor in west Windsor and will help to support transit ridership and promote a more vibrant pedestrian environment. Additional amenities inside the HDGH facility will offer our riders access to a cafeteria and snack bar and use of washroom facilities," said Transit Windsor in a news release.

Small changes have been made to a number of routes to accommodate the change.

The Transway 1C will no longer make stops on Felix between Prince and College. The Crosstown 2 and the South Windsor 7 will no longer service College Avenue as they make their way to the new terminal. The Crosstown 2 will travel down Prince Road to make its way to the new terminal and the South Windsor 7 will go from Matchette to Prince to the new terminal.
