Spitfires defeat Colts 3-2 in a shootout

The Windsor Spitfires defeated the Barrie Colts 3-2 in a shootout at the WFCU Centre on Saturday.

The Colts kicked off the game 0:33 into the first period with a goal from Tyson Foerster.

Tyler Angle and Daniel D'Amico both scored powerplay goals for the Spitfires in the second period.

Riley Piercey tied up the game when he scored 6:13 into the third period for the Colts.

Neither team scored in the overtime.

In the shootout, Ryan Suzuki scored the only goal for the Colts as the Spitfires' Egor Afanasyev and D'Amico scored two giving the win to Windsor with a final score of 3-2.

Windsor goalie Kari Piiroinen saved 36 out of 38 shots on net.

The Spitfires will face off against the Mississauga Steelheads at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre at 2 p.m. on Sunday
