Extended River Lights Winter Festival gets big grant

This year when Amherstburg's biggest festival starts, it will have $250,000 in federal funding to support it.

River Lights Winter Festival received the grant through the Canadian Experience Fund. It is supposed to enhance winter economic development in the town by engaging local business, expanding markets, and educating visitors about Canadian culture.

The festival will run longer this year, from mid-November into the new year.

This fall, the money will be used to make infrastructure improvements, including electrical, at Kings Navy Yard and Toddy Jones Park.
