Aldo DiCarlo said he is suffering health issues and is under the care of a doctor.
"I remain devoted to the Town of Amherstburg and hope to be back serving the people in a full capacity very soon," he wrote.
DiCarlo said he continues to work behind the scenes wherever possible.
They were produced during an intense storm last Saturday afternoon.
