The organizer of a GoFundMe page hopes to pay it forward by relieving the financial burden suffered by the family of a Kingsville man killed in a crash on Highway 3 Friday morning.
The Ontario Provincial Police said 50-year-old Tyler Knight died after his motorcycle collided with a commercial truck around 10:30 a.m. between Belle River Road and Division Road.
The page was set up Sunday, and so far, 38 people have contributed to its $50,000 goal.
"Over the last few years, Tyler overcame and surpassed many challenges," reads the GoFundMe page. "Through it all, he would be the first one to lend a helping hand to others with a smile on his face. Tyler was a friend to all. He touched the lives of everyone he met without hesitation and expected nothing in return."
Knight leaves behind his spouse and three grown children. He was a Millwright who was unable to work after a cancer diagnosis in 2009. Since then, the family had faced financial hardship.
The OPP are still investigating the crash and ask anyone with information to call them at 1-800-310-1122, at Crime Stoppers 1-888-222-8477, or online at www.catchcrooks.com.
