Toronto area woman arrested for Windsor murder

Windsor police have made an arrest in last summer's murder of a University of Windsor student.

Jason Solomon, 20, of Toronto was shot to death in the early morning hours of August 27, 2018 at the corner of Ouellette Avenue and University Avenue. At the time, police said two men firing weapons ran across Ouellette toward Solomon and his 19-year-old girlfriend around 2:40 a.m. and struck the victims.

Solomon died of his injuries in the hospital, while his girlfriend was treated and released.

Police are convinced the murder was not a random incident, but rather, Solomon was targeted by the shooters.

Keima Davis-Baynes, 22, of Mississauga was arrested on Wednesday in Peel Region. She is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder.

The investigation continues.

Police said a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and prosecution of the suspects is still available.
