Possible gunshots fired on Ellrose Avenue

Investigators are going through video surveillance footage after a report of gunshots fired just before midnight Thursday.

Police responded to the call on Ellrose between Metcalfe Street and the VIA Rail tracks around 11:55 p.m. and found fresh damage consistent with a bullet to a front window of a home there.

No one was hurt, but officers contained the scene and began canvassing the neighbourhood.

Windsor police said the investigation is still in its infancy, but investigators in the Major Crime Unit believe it was a targetted incident.

Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830, Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477, or leave their tip online at www.catchcrooks.com.
