The fourth annual Celebrity Men Fashion Event was a memorable one.
This year's event was held Thursday night at the Water's Edge Event Centre to raise $25,000 for kidney research.
Erika Muscat, fund development officer for the Windsor and District Chapter of the Kidney Foundation of Canada, said 14 local corporate and community leaders walked down the catwalk to support people living with kidney disease in Windsor-Essex.
"We have our biggest roster of models yet, we have 14 men who are very community-minded individuals and they're here to put on a fabulous show," Muskat said.
Muskat said this year's event was the biggest yet with approximately 250 guests attending the fundraiser.
Muskat said kidney failure is caused by diabetes and hypertension and an aging population in the Windsor area makes it very challenging.
"Unfortunately kidney disease is becoming more prevalent and that's why it's so important to get the awareness out there," she said.
Muskat said there's a great need for programs and services in Windsor-Essex.
"There's over 300 on the dialysis but there's hundreds more being followed by nephrologists to delay or prevent the progression of their disease," added Muskat.
