One person is in custody after a standoff at a Howard Avenue motel.
Windsor police officers were first called Thursday morning to the Ivy Rose motel on Howard between Edinborough Street and the E.C. Row Expressway. Police told BlackburnNewsWindsor.com that it concerned "a troubled party".
Drivers were asked to stay away from Howard Avenue and use Ouellette Avenue instead, but police said the public was never at risk.
The property was sealed off and the subject, confirmed by police in a tweet as a "person in crisis", was in custody after a few hours.
The investigation is ongoing and more details will be provided as they become available.
