The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued another flood warning, and this one is in effect until noon Friday.
It said northeast/east winds have picked up speed causing significant waves on Lake Erie between Wheatley Harbour and Point Pelee National Park. Water levels in the western basin of the lake have started to rise, and peak levels are anticipated late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.
Cotterie Park Road between Fox Run Road and Mersea Road 2 in Leamington is already flooded and is expected to get worse.

The warning is in effect for the Lake Erie shoreline including Pelee Island, Lake St. Clair shoreline, Detroit River shoreline, and along all significant waterways.
The authority said the City of Windsor should monitor water levels along flood control dikes and within the Little River Drain corridor.

Leamington is advised to keep an eye on the flood control dikes in the southeastern end of the municipality. Lower portions of the Marentette Beach Road dike has already sustained damage from storms last month.
Winds are expected to shift Thursday exacerbating shoreline erosion along the western shoreline of Pelee Island, an area that has already sustained damage this spring.
