It is official, Lakeshore Town Council has ratified a new contract with its facility attendants ending an almost month-long strike.
The strike by 21 facility attendants at places like the Atlas Tube Centre started March 5. They are represented by IBEW Union Local 636.
Council held a special meeting Monday night to ratify the contract which includes bereavement leave, more vacation pay, and uniforms for staff.
"The town is looking forward to getting back to business as usual," said Mayor Tom Bain.
Town officials anticipate the workers will be back on the job within the week.
