Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) notified Unifor Local 444 on Friday that the layoff weeks have been moved to the weeks of April 1 and April 8. They were previously scheduled for the weeks of April 8 and April 15.
Head of Communications LouAnn Gosselin said it is to “align production with demand.”
It will be the fourth shutdown since October.
The plant employs more than 6,000 workers.
The funding is designed to help local governments prepare for both opportunities and challenges tied to large-scale development.
