'The Junos should really consider coming to Windsor' says famous Windsor musician

A famous Windsor musician is calling for the Juno Awards to come to Windsor.

Jeff Burrows, the drummer for The Tea Party, got a lot of social media attention when he Tweeted out Tuesday afternoon that "the Junos should really consider coming to Windsor in the near future."

Burrows said Caesars Windsor would blow any production across the country out of the water and wants to help make it happen. Burrows said The Colosseum would be a great location to hold the Junos because it would have great broadcast quality and would need very little setup.

"I have been to many of them in St. John's, Hamilton, Winnipeg and Toronto and I think that venue would lend itself perfectly for that," said Burrows.

Burrows said the economic impact would be great for all the amazing restaurants, bars, and clubs in the area.

"All of the hotels along the water, on the river, the experience that the best of the best in the industry would have exploring Windsor and Essex County and surrounding areas and even checking out Detroit if they wanted," he added.

Burrows said the Windsor area has many great musicians and many great venues and should not take a back seat to anyone.

"I mean, I see all of the great venues and I get to go to all of these cities and when you look at what Windsor has to offer, it just seems crazy not to at least see if anyone considers it for real," said Burrows.

This year's Juno Awards are being held in London on Sunday and are being hosted by Sarah McLachlan.

The Tea Party is playing The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor on April 18 with special guests The Autumn Kings.
